Our testing portfolio includes vitamins, minerals, contaminants, pesticides and shelf-life studies.

We test of a variety of instrumentation including UPLC, HPLC, GC, and LCMS technologies. Job Description

Serves as a software specialist with a focus on maintaining scientific software applications and departmental process improvement through automation of data management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform administration and/or support for scientific software applications (e.g. Labware LIMS, Chromeleon, Analyst, etc.).
  • Troubleshoots errors and issues related to instrument software and software application interfaces with Labware LIMS.
  • Develops and modifies analyses within the Labware LIMS system.
  • Performs simple to advanced programming for testing, creation or modification of computer programs based on user and/or system design specifications.
  • Creates and maintains the accuracy of all analyses calculations.
  • Prioritizes analysis configuration changes with Labware LIMS super-users.
  • Assists in maintaining log of events for super-user related analysis activities.
  • Maintains ISO accreditation status within Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing (EFCT) lab applications.
  • Maintains method references and other associated method details in Labware LIMS.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on instrument software interfaces with Labware LIMS.
  • Responds to Quality Assurance, client, and regulatory questions or requests.
  • Completes specific programming or application improvements projects as directed.
  • Reviews and updates documentation related to projects (e.g.; SOPs, user documentation).
  • Coordinates and leads training sessions for users of various lab applications when necessary.
  • Manages validation test activities related to laboratory analyses and instrument interfaces.
  • Collects, sorts, and assembles data/information from established and non-established sources.
  • Assists in the internal coordination with multiple departments or business units within Eurofins regarding computer systems (e.g. consults with users to determine specifications, evaluates software and purchases).
  • Works with Information Technology to implement new computer, upgrade and troubleshoot computer systems used at EFCT.
  • Manages and maintains validated spreadsheets used by staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
  • BS/BA degree in science or related field.
  • Advanced training in Windows-based data capture systems.
  • Knowledge of GLP and/or GMP documentation practices.
  • Must be able to develop test plans and perform software validation.
  • Demonstrated ability for logical thinking, vision and creativity needed to function effectively with little structure or supervision.
Education/Experience (BMQ):
  • At least 3 years of related laboratory or computer programming/set-up experience.
  • 1 year of experience with the Labware LIMS application is desired.
  • Background in computer applications and regulations experience.
  • Familiarity with Databases (Oracle), SQL programming and/or Windows-based data capture systems
  • Experience may be substituted for education.
