Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist Opportunity

Irving, Texas

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Baylor Scott and White Health is seeking an Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist in Irving, Texas to assist with a growing demand for services in the area.  Fellowship training in Cytopathology, GI Pathology or GU Pathology is preferred. 

Responsibilities will include practicing general anatomic pathology, including frozen sections and cytopathology adequacies.  Clinical pathology duties will include review of peripheral smears and support for the blood bank when on call. 

  • Board Certified Pathologist with subspecialty training
  • Join an existing team of 4 pathologists at this location
  • The expected work schedule is Monday- Friday with evening and weekend call rotated approx. 1:4
  • Ideal start date is 2021
  • Primary responsibilities in a 296 bed community hospital with an established and growing medical staff

The core clinical laboratories include Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Hemostasis, and Transfusion Medicine services. The Baylor Scott and White Pathology practice has pathologists in North and Central Texas locations with more than 35 Pathologists and PhDs who oversee operations at 15 Hospitals.

The pathologists in the Department of Pathology have opportunities for academic affiliation with the recently announced new Medical School Campus in Temple, Texas.

QUALIFICATIONS

BE or BC by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.

Must be able to obtain a full unrestricted medical license by the Texas Medical Board by time of hire

Must have a medical degree, M.D., D.O. or equivalent
