SUMMARY

To maintain all aircraft and related equipment in a serviceable condition. Mechanics will be required to inspect and test systems, component parts used in their work, and sign for the work performed. The work of a Mechanic shall consist of any and all work generally recognized as, but not limited to, a Mechanic's work on or about the aircraft, its component parts and related equipment performed at the Amerijet Principal Maintenance Facility, other approved maintenance facilities/agencies or at line stations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but not limited to:

  • Will assure that work is accomplished in the best workmanship manner and that an airworthy condition exists on all work performed by him.
  • Will verify the work as outlined under various inspection and/or maintenance forms as directed by the Director of Maintenance and will sign-off all work performed at the time the work is completed.
  • Will notify the Director of Maintenance immediately of any condition that may arise that could present him with a problem of parts, materials, airworthiness, or workmanship.
  • Will consult with the Director of Maintenance if any dispute arises with the Inspection Department.
  • Will have enough hand tools to perform his duties as required.
  • Will be responsible to the Director of Maintenance for the accom­plishment of all work assigned to him in accordance with policies and procedures established by Amerijet, Manufacturer, and the FAA.
  • Will be responsible for properly performing all work assigned to him in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, for recording all work performed, and assuming responsibility for that work as indicated by his signature or initials.
  • The licensed mechanic shall be responsible for the work of any unlicensed mechanic working with him.
  • The Director of Quality Control may delegate the licensed mechanic for the Clearing and Signing-Off of Items that were inspected by him. The mechanic must assure that in clearing any item within the inspection category, he has not in any way performed or accomplished the subject work.
  • Mechanics may be required to instruct less experienced employees


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;
  • Must attain established work standards of quantity and quality on a consistent basis by process or function.
  • Must not exceed work attendance standards as established in the Company’s Employee Manual.
  • Consistently follows Company policies and procedures (including governmental and safety) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Verify the work as outlined under various inspection and/or maintenance forms as directed by the Director of Maintenance and will sign-off all work performed at the time the work is completed. Assure that work is accomplished in the best workmanship manner and that an airworthy condition exists on all work performed by him.
  • Responsible to the Director of Maintenance for the accom­plishment of all work assigned to him in accordance with policies and procedures established by Amerijet, Manufacturer, and the FAA. Notify the Director of Maintenance immediately of any condition that may arise that could present him with a problem of parts, materials, airworthiness, or workmanship.
  • Properly performing all work assigned him in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, recording all work performed, and assuming responsibility for that work as indicated by his signature or initials. Licensed mechanic shall be responsible for the work of any unlicensed mechanic working with him.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:


  • Valid FAA Airframe and Power plant Certification




REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft designs, repair, and maintenance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Two years prior experience in Aircraft Maintenance; three years’ experience in Avionics.


SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations


TRAVEL
  • Occasional Travel – The job requires travel outside the U.S from time to time. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exposed to high levels of noise, dust, vibration, and chemical fumes.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • Able to bend, twist, squat, and lift.
  • Able to access and work in all areas of the aircraft, including confined areas.
  • Able to climb on ladders and platforms and work at heights up to fifty feet from the ground.
  • Able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Able to fly with any airplanes, and travel outside the US, when required
