Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the position held in Space Systems Command/Commercial Space Office (SSC/COMSO) that will support acquisition planning.

The employee will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the Department of Defense (DoD) and government agencies, alongside commercial entities, aimed at cultivating and sharing proven and emerging technologies. These efforts are geared towards bolstering our nation's capabilities in space and reinforcing our national security posture.

The contractor's responsibilities encompass a thorough assessment of program solicitation documentation. This involves scrutinizing acquisition strategies, systems engineering plans, Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to ensure adherence to proven policies and guidelines. Moreover, the contractor will evaluate the consistency of implementation across various facets such as acquisition strategies, technical approaches, and requirements, while also assessing milestones, forecasts, and risk factors. The aim is to ensure the realistic attainment of a product that meets the needs of our warfighters within the constraints of cost, schedule, and performance.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 10 years (Large Space Program Acquisition / Systems Engineering / Operations)
  • These requirements may be waived by the Contracting Officer
  • Facilitate collaboration between the Department of Defense (DoD), government agencies, and commercial entities to foster the growth and exchange of proven and emerging technologies, thereby advancing our nation's space-based capabilities and fortifying our national security
  • Evaluate program solicitation documentation, including acquisition strategies, systems engineering plans, Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), to ensure alignment with policy and guidance
  • Assess consistency in the implementation of acquisition strategies, technical approaches, and requirements, as well as milestones, forecasts, and risk assessments, with a focus on delivering products that meet warfighters' needs within cost, schedule, and performance parameters
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree (STEM)
  • Master's degree (STEM or Management) desired

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
