What You'll Do

The Slalom DHS Account Leader has responsibility for establishing and growing Slalom's presence at DHS within our Federal sector portfolio. The Slalom DHS Account Leader will help set strategic direction, actively oversee the delivery of solutions, develop business and drive sales, and provide executive and tactical account management. We are open to hiring at both the Director or Senior Director level for this role. The right candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Industry Expertise - Demonstrate deep understanding of how DHS agencies operate, DHS trends and value drivers, technology trends, and opportunities for transformation in the Federal government. Provide expertise to teams, clients, and partners as you tailor existing Slalom capabilities to create client solutions that generate value for the government and Slalom.
  • Account Growth - Lead sales pipeline generation by creating new revenue opportunities for Slalom. Execute long term capture planning and build a multi-year DHS pipeline. Build relationships within and across agencies at DHS. Leverage relationships to drive capture activities and shape and respond to client and agency RFxs (RFPs/RFQs, etc.). Collaborate and partner regularly with Slalom technology alliance sales executives. Responsible for $12.5M+ direct revenue annually, with incremental growth in outyears.
  • Innovation - Identify opportunities to innovate and elevate Slalom capabilities and solutions within the DHS realm aligning to agency strategic priorities and investments.
  • Project Delivery - Provide hands-on executive and tactical oversight of all sold / managed engagements. Accountable for project delivery quality assurance, delivery excellence, risk management and issue escalation.
  • Know and Serve Customers - Model the ability to read an audience and influence others to gain consensus, highlight results, and manage risk. Well-networked across the customer organization and leadership structures; known for breadth and Slalom connection. Guides the DHS account team in implementing Customer Love strategies.
  • Business Operations - Leads business strategy and planning for the DHS account, aligned with Slalom's Public and Social Impact strategy. Accountable for account operational and financial health (e.g., pipeline, margin, bill rates, managed revenue, engagement delivery quality, etc.). Accountable for people processes and talent decisions within the DHS account team (e.g., staffing, performance management, hiring, etc.).
  • Slalom Leadership - Leads and develops teams, individuals, and self by doing the following:

    • Sets team's vision and strategy in alignment with organization's strategic priorities, while inspiring enthusiasm and commitment
    • Takes prompt and meaningful action to restore psychological safety in their teams, if something disrupts it
    • Models curiosity for multiple perspectives to mitigate biases and improve relationships
    • Puts systems and processes in place that help others effectively manage their energy and attention
    • Creates resilient environment where learning from failure and navigating ambiguity are expected
    • Creates an environment where others feel comfortable being authentic
    • Serves as formal people leader
What You'll Bring
  • You bring a collaborative, innovative, and humble approach to working as part of a leadership team that is focused on growing Slalom's impact on the Federal government.
  • Experience across multiple facets of the business development lifecycle, such as account planning, capture, solutioning, win theme identification, proposal development, etc.
  • You have a deep passion for identifying and delivering outcomes with our Federal government that is underpinned with an understanding of how Federal agencies buy and procure. You have a proven track record of understanding, anticipating buying patterns, and selling and delivering exceptionally to the Federal government.
  • You can partner with clients to understand their organizational needs and recommend solutions that support their missions.
  • You build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues. You have active and transferable relationships in the market and a proven ability to drive new connections and deepen relationships in the Federal sector and client accounts.
  • You possess 10-12+ years of experience delivering high impact consulting services and managing teams of 10+ resources through all lifecycles of a project.
  • You demonstrate progressive leadership experience with a focus in the Federal sector and a measurable depth of experience with modern technologies, platforms, and techniques (cloud, CRM/Salesforce, data analytics).
